I have this weird love/hate relationship with psychology. First of all, it’s kind of always telling you what’s wrong with you, which begins an ugly endless cycle of feeling “broken.”
It also brings a lot of pharmaceutical drugs into the mix. They seem to always be the “right” answer.
And lastly, and most importantly, it doesn’t resonate with the highly spiritual 99.9% of the time.
Again, this is only my perspective.
I have to admit, I’ve seen my fair share of therapists in my lifetime, each one offering a unique approach to my “situation”. Situation is in quotations for the simple fact I always thought something was WRONG with me. I had a situation that needed to be FIXED.
I felt LOST. Constantly. Like all the time. I went from aspiring fashion designer to plastic surgeon in a week, and went to as many as 6 different colleges.
I knew my dad didn’t understand it, he has been with the same company since he was 18 years old, not understanding the college swaps, or the job changes. Oh yeah, I’ve had close to 75 jobs in my lifetime. I believe I lost count after 35….
It wasn’t until my spiritual awakening did I actually find inner peace.
Finally, something TRUE.
But this isn’t what this is about; this is about finding something good that has sprouted from psychology. And that is the theory of:
You become like the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with.
Truer words have never been spoken.
And as ironic as this is going to sound, I’m about to explain it from a spiritual point of view instead of a psychological.
It’s all about energy. Energy is found in everything, including people. Ever meet someone and get hit with their bad vibes? Ever spend time with Mr. or Mrs. Bad Vibes and feel drained afterward? Yeah, that shit is REAL.
Bad vibes = drained life
So if you are hanging with the bad vibes gang, you better believe you are going to become just like them.
Do they hate their jobs and live passionless lives? Wouldn’t be surprised if you eventually did too….
Be smart and find your tribe!! Your tribe is the people that have the same goals as you, the same values, the same ideals. They want the same things as you, love self-improvement, and bring people up as opposed to bringing them down.
If you are the smartest person in the room, you’re in the wrong room.
If you want to go forward and kick some ass in life and business, you better take a good look around at those 5 people….
