My Poor Extroverted Coworker, Little Does He Know I’m Introverted

Introverted people are the BEST kind of people

My introverted nature is severely obvious as I travel to Detroit with my coworker. I am finding myself in DESPERATE need to be alone.

It’s funny because introverts get a bad rap of being shy. Although SOME introverts can be shy, not ALL introverts are shy. In fact, there is such a thing as an outgoing introvert. That’s me.

I am the type of person that needs to be stimulated at all times.

But that stimulation doesn’t necessarily have to come from people. In fact, MOST OF THE TIME, it’s not by people. It’s either by writing, listening to podcasts, or by watching a stimulating television show.

I love people, I do. In fact, I love them so much I’m dedicating my life to helping them deal with their person demons (intuitive coaching). But sometimes an introverted soul needs to re-energize, which is why I had to separate from my coworker on our business trip and have him fend for himself at a hockey game.

Being self-aware may seem like a curse at times, but the truth is it’s a blessing.

It’s a blessing because the more self-aware you are of your needs, the more truthful a life you will lead. So instead of being at a hockey game drinking beer and eating ‘coney dogs’ (aka chili hot dogs), I am chillin in my hotel room, writing about my feelings while watching Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, and getting ready to sit at a bar alone ordering a red wine and a good dish. Call me crazy, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

YES. My guilt on the guiltiness scale is pretty high for ditching my coworker in a foreign city. I just feel like life is about CHOICES. I could be productive and work on my business and myself, or I can choose to make sure my coworker is stimulated. What choice will lead me to my highest truth?

I’m telling you, self-awareness is a gift. Embrace it, people! I Self-awareness, consciousness, and intuition are all intertwined. I saw this quote on Instagram the other day. Let me share:

“Sometimes our feelings override our intuition and only one is always working for your best interest.”

TRUTH. It’s hard, when you love really hard like I do. But listen to your intuition, it always seems to know what you NEED, not what you WANT.
