  1. Being present

If you’re a dreamer like me, you’ll know that it’s really hard to get your head out of the clouds and back down to earth. In other words, get grounded and really focused on what’s right in front of you. Although it’s really healthy to make goals and prepare for your future, it’s also really important to spiritually be here now. In reality, all we really have is the present.

Meditation can help you clear away those future thoughts by focusing on the breath, and feeling grounded by focusing on your body.

2. More patience

Boy, can I notice when I don’t meditate. All of a sudden that bus that was supposed to be here 2 minutes ago is the biggest inconvenience of my life. However, if I meditated that morning for peace, I feel like a whole new person, and that bus that’s late is the now most minor inconvenience. It’s all about perspective.

And that’s what is happening when you’re meditating, you’re opening doors for other consciousness levels to flow through you, being able to see different perspectives. Because at the end of the day, what does happen if the bus is late? Do you spontaneously combust? Do you have any control at all over it?

Asking yourself these questions can really help put things into perspective, and staying present can help you realize, what’s the actual rush?

3. Connection to higher power/source/universe

Ah, this one is my absolute favorite. When I’m feeling disconnected, meditation usually is something that connects me instantly. Why? Because the truth is within you at all times and you can connect with God/Divine/Source/Universe anytime you want. You don’t need to attend a house of worship or spend any money.
